A bachelor’s degree in Middle Grades Education prepares graduates to teach in grades 4th – 8th. At Georgia College & State University candidates are well rounded through a balanced curriculum delivered through a mentor-led, field-based cohort model.

GCSU’s Middle Grades Education program was named one of just two in the nation, and the country’s only undergraduate program as a Distinguished Teacher Preparation Program by the Association for Middle Level Education (AMLE).
The College of Education was nationally accredited by the Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP) in May 2022. Accreditation is a nongovernmental activity based on peer review that serves the dual functions of assuring quality and promoting continuous improvement.
